Here we go again; there is a National Campaign to Enforce the Seat Belt laws from May 21 to June 3 2012. Memorial Day is approaching real soon when the nation honors the fallen comrades in battle. Many people will take the time to put flags on veteran’s graves. Some will attend a ceremony to see a 21 gun salute to honor the fallen. Some veterans will reunite with their old units and regale the tales of war stories. This day is very emotional for many war heroes who seen friends close to them fall giving their life for our liberty we enjoy so much today or what is left of it.
Will the government honor the veterans this Memorial Day weekend? Do you think they will give thanks to the brave men who showed courage and valor? Will the government recommit themselves to preserving freedom securing the rights of the people? This next Memorial Day weekend, the government nationwide has plans. It is not securing our liberty either. They are seeking an opportunity to better themselves and the government coffers generating revenue. How are they going to use this Memorial Day weekend to take advantage of the people? Fallen soldiers should be rolling over in their graves right now seeing how much the government is out of control.
Right now, I am seeing again those TV ads of "Click it or Ticket". They are gearing up for the Memorial Day to generate revenue. Some states will have checkpoints to see if you are wearing your seat belt, if we are not wearing it. We will get a fine to pay. This seat belt law is a swindle for the government to squeeze more money out of the people. Seat belts can save lives and just as much kill people. Saying the Police are keeping us safe by making us, wear a seat belt has its pros and cons.
A person can fly through the windshield for not wearing a seat belt depending how fast they were going. They possibly will be thrown from the car when it is rolling over because they are not strapped in. People are had internal injuries from impact because the strap damaged organs by the impact throwing the body forward. People have been stuck inside the car unable to free themselves because the seat belt does not release them to get out of danger. ( This is why I keep a pocket knife in the car)Obese people, the seat belt will not fit either. For me, I wear a seat belt because of two experiences in my life. When I was 17 years old, I had to have dental surgery because my face hit the dashboard in the passenger seat because I was not wearing a seat belt. When I was in the Army, I was in a jeep flipping sex times. This, time I had my seat belt on and walked away with just a bruised elbow. The seat belt and roll bar saved made the difference. Seat belts should be a personal choice, not the law.
Government should only have the limited function of securing our liberties, protecting the people from force and fraud. Government cannot save us from our bad choices, nor should it be the nanny state should not be interfering with our personal decisions either. Everything in life has risk involved; it is not the job of the government to save us from ourselves either. We will always make bad choices and suffer the consequences for choosing wrong. A law well intentioned to save lives in the beginning exploiting well-meaning people saying it was necessary. Years later, now used for different purposes instead of keeping us safe, now the government is abusing people’s rights because of this law. The state is abusing the law. Seat belt laws have no useful purpose except generate revenue for the government.
The seat belt law is the camel's nose under the tent to get into areas we do not want them in sticking their nose were it does not belong. They use this law as an excuse to set up checkpoints not just to check for seat belts. They will check your papers to see if you are licensed, registered, have an up to date inspection sticker and insurance. To do warrantless searches of our cars, take blood on the side of the road without probable cause. To download the data from our cell phones to retrieve personal information that is private. Could we see the TSA running checkpoints in certain states this Memorial Day? We will wait and see if they are seen on the highways.
This National seat belt enforcement campaign is federally funded. The National Highway Safety Administration has no jurisdiction to enforce seat belt laws. This is a matter for the states and not a Federal matter. So take "Click it or Ticket" and stick it where the suns don’t shine. If you think, the law is to save lives. The road to hell is paved with good intentions.

The best way to fight the system is to starve it. Don't play the stupid games
