If you expect justice you will just drive yourself crazy because injustice and evil is all around you.

But you can have the peace of knowing that Jesus is watching your back and protecting you. And with that peace comes strength and confidence. Speak truth to power like Jesus did - your blog is all about that. Do what is right when doing the right thing is difficult. Put on your boots and join the oppressed in their struggles. Jesus protected you yesterday. He's protecting you today. So don't worry about tomorrow.. ..he'll be there for you. Go ahead and fight for what is right.

But do follow MLK's 'nonviolent action' advice. Us good people, doing what is right, are not the evil thugs with badges, tasers, guns, jails, Swat teams and a whole prison industrial complex. We don't 'disappear' people even if they deserve it. Those are the ways of the evil ones.Dr. Goldsteinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01643777727432581622noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2666895657048195776.post-20482462473158377142012-04-09T01:48:26.580-05:002012-04-09T01:48:26.580-05:00Jesus is a muslim and zealous for God's Law. ...Jesus is a muslim and zealous for God's Law. Portraying him as anti-establishment is misleading. Let us look at what Jesus said in the New Testament in context(!!!!!):
Matthew 15:1-9
15:1 Then some Pharisees and teachers of the law came to Jesus from Jerusalem and asked,
15:2 "Why do your disciples break the tradition of the elders? They don't wash their hands before they eat!"
15:3 Jesus replied, "And why do you break the command of God for the sake of your tradition?
15:4 For God said, 'Honor your father and mother' and 'Anyone who curses his father or mother must be put to death.'
15:5 But you say that if a man says to his father or mother, 'Whatever help you might otherwise have received from me is a gift devoted to God,'
15:6 he is not to 'honor his father' with it. Thus you nullify the word of God for the sake of your tradition.
15:7 You hypocrites! Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you:
15:8 " 'These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me.
15:9 They worship me in vain; their teachings are but rules taught by men.'"

DID YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT HAPPENED?

15:3 Jesus rebuked the Pharisees for breaking the Commands of GOD Almighty.
15:4 he used the cursing of parents' punishment as an example. The context, however, is not limited to just this example!
15:7-9 he used a quote from the book of Isaiah in the Old Testament, to further prove that they are not following the Commands of GOD Almighty.

N.B. Jesus clearly had a problem with them not following the PUNISHMENT OF DEATH FOR CURSING THE PARENTS or any punishment of death that is commanded in the OT for this matter! In fact, Jesus himself said:

"Do not think that I [Jesus] have come to abolish the Law (the Old Testament) or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke or a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law (the Old Testament) until everything is accomplished. (Matthew 5:17-18)"

"Then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples: 'The teachers of the law and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat. So you must obey them and do everything they tell you. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach.' (Matthew 23:1-3)"

And unlike that pied piper Paul, the disciples who were with Jesus 24/7 too were fanatics for God's Law:

Acts 21:20 Then they said to Paul: “You see, brother, how many thousands of Jews have believed, and all of them are zealous for the law.Faris Meehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00605356692028452236noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2666895657048195776.post-19421446432845808182012-04-09T00:51:36.038-05:002012-04-09T00:51:36.038-05:00"He was no peace loving longed haired hippie...."He was no peace loving longed haired hippie." and he was not some bigoted tele tubby with a bent mind.

"Those hippies tore down everything we were fighting for."DodgyOnehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03898090583997188910noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2666895657048195776.post-65869747876289957142012-04-09T00:17:25.577-05:002012-04-09T00:17:25.577-05:00Read again and ask yourself what exactly IS God...Read again and ask yourself what exactly IS God's? Would a god not own or have dominion over everything, including Caesar himself? In other words, Jesus was giving them the only answer that mattered....without giving anyone a reason to persecute him. IMHO he was saying that in the end it ALL belongs to the most high anyway. It never ceases to amaze me that NOBODY ever seems to get that and every time I read that I get a chuckle. Jesus did have a sense of humor :)Temple25https://www.blogger.com/profile/09157454447111785924noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2666895657048195776.post-22659071788404128912012-04-08T19:46:35.985-05:002012-04-08T19:46:35.985-05:00If Jesus was anti-establishment, what does Mark 12...If Jesus was anti-establishment, what does Mark 12:14-17 mean?

14: And when they were come, they said unto him, Teacher, we know that you are true, and care for no man: for you regard not the person of men, but teach the way of God in truth: Is it lawful to give tribute to Caesar, or not?

15: But he, knowing their hypocrisy, said unto them, Why tempt you me? bring me a penny, that I may see it.

16: And they brought it. And he said unto them, Whose is this image and superscription? And they said unto him, Caesar's.

17: And Jesus answering said unto them, Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's.

Seems to me Jesus is saying to obey the government.
